DESCRIPTION:After a successful drinks evening at Le Maatcha Café in both July and August\, we have decided to return to this venue again for September. \nSeptember Monthly Drinks \nwill take place on Wednesday 2nd September from 7h00 pm \nat Le Maatcha Café\, 10 rue la Boétie\, Paris 8 \n \nMetros : St Augustin (lines 9\, 14) / Miromesnil (9\, 13). SNCF St Lazare \nAll Oxford and Cambridge Alumni\, whether or not members of the Paris Societies\, are cordially invited to join us for our Monthly drinks get-together at this centrally located café – very close to Saint Lazare and various metros.\n\n\nThis is a “drop in if you are free” event – there is no need to book and you are welcome to bring a non-Oxbridge friend. If you don’t find us ask the staff where we can be found. \nWe have booked the Café for our exclusive use so please do not be concerned if you look on their website and see that it closes at 6h30 pm! \n\n

DESCRIPTION:An invitation from the Oxford Society \nRentrée dinner\, speaker Lord Hague \nWednesday 30th September \n \nThe Oxford Society of Paris is delighted to announce their rentrée event\, a dinner with Lord Hague\, Chancellor of Oxford \nBorn in Rotherham in 1961 he was first educated at Wath-Upon-Dearne Comprehensive School\, before moving on to study at Magdalen College\, becoming President of the Oxford Union and graduating in 1982 with First Class honours and the College Prize in PPE. Later he took an MBA at INSEAD in France. \nAfter commencing a business career with McKinsey & Co\, William was elected as the MP for Richmond\, Yorkshire. He served for 26 years in the House of Commons in many senior roles\, in particular Secretary of State for Wales 1995-1997\, Leader of the Conservative Party 1997-2001\, and First Secretary of State and Foreign Secretary 2010-2014. \nAs Minister for Disabled People he was responsible for the landmark Disability Discrimination Act of 1995. During his time as Foreign Secretary William received global recognition for the Campaign to Prevent Sexual Violence in Conflict\, which he co-founded with Angelina Jolie. \nWell known as an author\, William has written biographies of William Pitt the Younger (2005 History Book of the Year award) and William Wilberforce. \nOn leaving the Commons in 2015\, William was made a life peer and has since then devoted his time to charity\, business and journalism.
